Taizo Sugitani represents quiet greatness: a rider who has performed at the highest level for decades—defined by consistency, precision, and an exceptionally refined feel for horses. Born in 1976 in Izumi, Japan, he has represented his country internationally for nearly three decades and secured a unique place in Japanese show jumping with seven Olympic appearances (1996–2024).
He continues to prove his form in competition as well: at the FEI Jumping Asian Championships 2025, he was part of the Japanese team that won gold.
