What to do during lockdown: equestrian edition

The pandemic has a big influence on life at the stables. Competitions are getting canceled, the government might have restrictions on the amount of time you can spend with your horse and some countries even have a lockdown. To help you get through this time, we’ve created a list of things you can do during Covid.

1) Clean your tack and brushes
Is cleaning your tack something you always postpone? Now is the perfect time to take care of it. If you have artificial leather products from Kentucky Horsewear cleaning your tack is a piece of cake with our tack cleaner. You simply spray the product on your artificial leather goods and wipe it off with a clean towel. To have your boots shine like new ones, use our boots cleaner in the same way you use the tack cleaner. If you have a saddle pad, bandages or rug you want to clean, just throw them in your washing machine. Most of our products are washable at 30 degrees (no dryer). It’s best to check the care guide for each product on our website. Because some products need a washing bag to have maximum protection in the washing machine.

2) Sort your saddle pads collection
You can never have enough saddle pads right? But some are just lying there forever. Now is the perfect time to sort which saddle pads you want to keep. The others you can easily sell online. The money you gain from selling the saddle pads can be used for… Right! Buying new saddle pads laugh If your country is in lockdown, no need to worry because we have different online retailers.

3) Create a wish list
Because of Covid you’d almost forget that the holidays are coming. So now is the perfect time to create a wish list! If you can’t remember which color of the Show Rug was you wanted. Check out our Instagram and save the products you like. This makes it easier to tell your family what you’d like for the holidays, and you’ll finally get a present you really like!

4) Reorganize your tack room
Over the years, tack rooms can become more like a hoarding cave of products. Time to turn it back to a tack room. Put all your clean rugs together in our rug bag. It can store up to 5 rugs and looks a lot neater. The rug bag also makes sure the rugs don’t get wet as it is waterproof. The same goes for saddle pads. It would be a shame if your clean saddle pads were just lying on the ground. Our saddle pad bag stores 3 to 5 saddle pads and is aside from that super stylish.

5) Stay Safe
Kentucky Horsewear is known for its protective horse gear. As we save your horse from getting injured, we also hope you stay safe. By protecting ourselves and each other, we can fight the pandemic. Keep at least 2 Sammy’s social distance and wash your hands like you’d wash a grey horse after rolling in the muck.
